Each year pets are brought into emergency rooms for a variety of holiday ailments. This year, make sure you are aware and prepared. Here is a list of helpful numbers and data so that your pampered pup can enjoy the holidays. Just like anything else, be aware of where your pup is and what they have in their mouth. The holidays are excited for everyone and we’ve tried to put the most common items on our watch lists. However, when new things come out with new smells, you pup is going to be extra interested in everything. It is your responsibility as a pup parent to keep their world safe. Here is what to look for. 

Consult your vet for your breeds specific allergies, but these common foods can seriously harm or be potentially lethal to your pampered pooch. 



Potentially Toxic Holiday Plants:  
Poinsettias 
Holly 
Ivy 
Mistletoe 
Lilies 
Daffodils 
Christmas Tree 

Hazardous Household Chemicals:
Anti-freeze
Lye – the key ingredient in soaps 
Christmas Tree Water (you can swap the toxic powder with normal sugar instead)

Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Especially Bakers Chocolate 
Cocoa
Coffee
Hard Candy (chocking hazard)
Cranberries
Large amounts of garlic
Milk
Mushrooms
